What is the shelf-life for your enzyme mask?

It should be good way over a year…since honey really does not go bad…..if it smells bad, just like bad food, I would not use, and never get any product into your eyes!

First off, I ant to say I LOVE your mission statement as I feel exactly the same way !!! I am also asking for your professional help for my own personal skin care regimen. I am 57 years young with mild rosacea. I live in Northeast Pennsylvania with the hope of moving to Pagosa Springs, Colorado in the very near future 😀 I have fine lines and wrinkles around my mouth and eyes that I want to get rid of !! I am also looking for an eye cream. I have been researching organic chemical free skin care for months now.May I ask why you use water and you don’t use jojoba oil n your products? I hope to hear from you soon !!! With warm regards, Bonnie

Hi Bonnie, we use water because it is a great carrier and the giver of life. We use rosehip seed and primrose oil, but jojoba is nice.  I suggest you use our seven facial rejuvenating oils…Kukui oil is great for many skin problems.

What would you recommend for someone with oily aging skin? Gave her a sample of nourishing moisture cream and she says her skin is sticky.

I’d recommend the Oil Free Skin Conditioning Serum and the Balancing Facial Lotion.

Hi just came across your products online & Twitter – I see your skin care is all nature with organic sources herbs etc which is great. I was just curious what is used as the preservative to keep the product from spoiling and what is shelf life of products. Thanks!

For over thirty years we have been formulating and reformulating to get shelf life to one year.  We use essential oils, USDA certified organic alcohol tinctures of herbs, grapefruit seed extract, and vitamin c.  In addition, to lotion pumps so our fingers to not introduce anything to the product, etc.

Hello, My skin is good but at over 65 not responding as well to moisturizers. I live in Louisiana and am wondering if your moisturizer would be appropriate here; the climate is pretty wet. I am currently using organic Argan oil straight some nights and just seem to need something more to balance it out during winter months with heating on. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Thanks for reaching out….We have some very loyal customers in LA. We have a light highly absorbing USDA certified organic Kukui oil, but at 57 here in our drier climate I do prefer our 7 Rejuvenating oils, it has the Kukui, primrose oil, rose hip seed oil, that I much prefer to Argan oil. I would try our 7 oils, two sizes to fit your budget. You can read on our blog all about the oil and reviews. Here is the link to the two ounce. You can also read reviews.

You may want to try our cleansers and toners, too, they are fabulous. Thanks so much, please let us know if we can be of further service. Thanks, Lily

Hello, I have a question about one of your ingredients. I bought the Hydrating facial spray toner, I was also interested in the Nourishing toner, most of the ingredients are great, except “alcohol”. In my experience with “dry skin” or “anti-aging” products, most do not have alcohol due to it being very drying. Why do your toners have alcohol? Is there an alternative?
Thank you for your time, looking forward to trying more in the Nourishing line.

Thanks so much for your recent purchase and for your interest in our products. USDA certified organic alcohol, is only from seeds and plants that are born and grown in a USDA certified organic environment and documented by the USDA.

USDA certified organic alcohol has nothing in common with SD alcohol, which is usually petroleum derived and toxic to the skin and body. The alcohol we use is similar to Vodka, it is very clean. It is the only ingredient the USDA certified organic program will allow to be used as a preservative.

There is so much misinformation out there, actually, just plain wrong information, regarding alcohol, and everything about organic skin care, we have been selling these products for 30 years now, so we have a good idea of what the truth is now.

We use it in all toners, because water encourages growth, both in a garden or a skin care product, the kind of growth we do not want in a skin care product, mold and bacteria, alcohol, along with a lot of the herbs we use, are anti-bacterial.

No, I would not say that USDA certified organic alcohol is drying. I am 57 and I have been using our balancing toner everyday on a cotton ball, and of course, now I have dry skin, and it leaves my skin clean and radiant. I use the Seven facial rejuvenating oils to replenish moisture, several times a day.

There is not an alternative, other then synthetic chemicals, which we have avoided for over 30 years! When you buy any of our products you know there is no synthetic chemicals, ever!

Thanks again for your recent purchase and questions, please do not hesitate to ask me questions, if I can be of further service.

Could you please tell me if your Balancing Facial Toner has a spray mister? Also I know the toners, etc are in glass but are the mini sizes in glass, too?

Yes, the Balancing Facial Toner has a spray mister.  No, the 1/2 ounce size is not in glass, they are just a trial size for a few treatments.
The Balancing Facial Toner is one of my favorite products, used on a cotton ball it removes all grim and make up from the day, leaving your skin fresh and toned.

I just purchased the trial size of the balancing skincare line. My face is combination dry and this line seems a little drying since it is for combination oily. What would you recommend for me?

Thankyou. I really love your skincare even though I just purchased it. It feels amazing!

I look forward to hearing from you.

I am 57 and I still use the balancing toner and cleanser…..the mask is for all skin types and just won it’s 6th award as best mask!
You may want to try to Kukui oil or 7 rejuvenating if you have dry spots….I love the 7 oils, it is rich with primrose oil and rose hip seed oil!  Most stores have free testers where you can try it and see if you like how it feels.

I was glad when I came across your site tonight. I was raised in the Denver area, and still have family there.
Can you recommend anything for me to order that will help with hair loss? Like a lot of women who have gotten older, I am loosing hair at the crown and it’s getting thin in s lot of places.
I hope there is a product you can recommend. I have read coconut oil and lavender may be beneficial, but I want more information available. Thank you!

Have you had your thyroid checked?  I would start there with a blood test….many women over 45 have depleted thyroid which also makes them super fatigued.

I think many natural remedies can help as you mentioned, standing on your head, serious greens, like kale and spirilina.  I am sorry, but I have not heard of a product you can buy that really works…..sorry I am not more help.  Lily

I am over 50 with fine lines, most concerned with Marinette type of lines that are developing and have rosacea. What skin care line would you recommend? (And why). I’m interested in reducing the redness of my complexion and the underlying blemishes that come with rosacea. Thanks

If you are dry, I would go with the dry line, because it has the 7 facial rejuvenating oils which contains primrose and rose hip seed oil and , is richer products for dryer skin.  If you are not that dry, I would go with the balancing line,  it has the balancing toner I use with a cotton ball, very healing, very anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory.  They both contain the mask, which has won 5 national awards for best mask.
I have had a problem with a rash recently….and I have really benefited from steaming and drinking alkaline tea….both can often help many skin conditions and are pleasant, as well.   You may also want to look on our blog for natural rosacea remedies, too.

Hello i have three teen age girls (19) and twins (16) . All three of my girls have horrible acne . we have tried everything. My oldest is now on medicine and all kinds of stuff the dermatologist has given to her. I would really like to find a skin care that would help the girls with their skin using organic products. I was looking at your site and wanted to order the sample kits for my girls but when i select the sample kit im not sure the acne prone products are available in a kit. As you can imagine i have bought everything on the market and nothing has worked the girls are beautiful young ladies but their acne truly is large and out of control.

Thanks for reaching out to us.  Let me start with the good news, acne is hormonal and they will grow out of it!  That is why it can be difficult to treat topically.
That said, suffering from acne is why I became so interested in skin care.  I would definitely suggest the balancing skin care line, there are trial packs on the website, they are green labeled.  I do think they would benefit from the rejuvenating enzyme mask, it is in a honey base with papaya and pineapple, honey is extremely anti-bacterial.  The balancing toner is full of lavender, which is anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory.  That is still one of my favorite products, because it is also non-drying to the skin.  Works beautiful on a cotton ball.  If they need a bit of moisturizer, if you live in a dry climate, the oil free skin conditioning serum is a life saver.
I would also read on our blog what I have published on acne, lots of really great ideas, for example, steaming with the balancing toner, steaming your whole body, keeping away from stimulants, coffee, chocolate, sugar rushes, etc

Hello I am very interested in your skin care line . My friend actually referred me to you as she has had such a positive experience and sees great results with her skin. I was wondering which one I should try ? I have mostly dry skin and sensitive skin with a break out in acne every once in a while not too bad .thanks!

Hi, I would try seaweed cleanser, balancing toner and the Kukui oil to moisturize

I like to use steam, so would you use it during the exfoliation or mask treatment with your products?

Not sure if I would steam with mask on, just because it could be wasted, in the steam, making it run off…Use it after or before the steam.

My client protocol involves exfoliation while I give a hand massage and a mask while I do a scalp massage.  You wouldn’t use the enzyme mask for both, so what do you recommend?

The mask would be great for hand and face.  I love the Seven Rejuvenating facial oils!

I am trying to find a truly organic line of products. I have recently read and heard that all almonds are not organic due to I think, some farming conditions….Yet almond oil is in alot of your products. Would you please comment?

There are a couple different paths you could take. First we have our oil free skin conditioning serum, it is light and oil free….also our organic kukui oil, just 3 ingredients, a very light highly absorbent oil.  Or the 7 oils which is rich, but wonderful!

What are your carrier oils and what is the base for your cleansers?

Our base carrier oil is almond oil and that and water are the base for our cleansers.

You raise alot of your plants on site, however, some of your products contain items that couldn’t possibly be grown in our Colorado climate.  Where do you outsource?

Yes, we cannot grow all our ingredients, especially in Colorado, we have been in business for 30 years and have many people we purchase from.

Hello! I have two questions. First, when I’m getting to the bottom of the face mask and it starts to get chunky is there a way to break that up and use it or should I just rub it on? Also, I struggle with oily skin with the biggest problem being the sheen I get from lotions/creams. What do you recommend?? Thanks so much!

Hi, You can just rub it on, I like that scrub feeling or you can just run the bottle under hot water and it should dissolve. I think you would love the oil free skin conditioning serum, it was our first product, 30 years ago, I made it for myself, because I still had acne but I also was developing small lines…also the balancing facial toner, is one of my favorites I still use it everyday on a cotton ball at night, takes away all the days grime….works fabulous with the oil free skin conditioning serum. Thanks for reaching out…let me know if you have more questions

Just had a question as to why there are no expiration dates on your skin care, given the fresh and organic ingredients?

We have lot numbers on every bottle, as a requirement of the FDA.

Our products are like fresh asparagus, if you forget about it in the back of your refrigerator and it goes bad, you know it. All carbon based life deteriorates with age, synthetic chemicals just mask the decay. Consumers are much better off, knowing when a product is bad.

I hope that answers your question, if not feel free to contact me anytime, the customer as well, we love talking to our customers!

I just unearthed a bottle of Organic Kukui Sensitive facial oil Treatment, unscented….
that was packed away when we moved. I purchased back in 2013, it does not really smell rancid, but not sure it smells right??? Still good to use, or should I just throw it out….?

Thank you for being such a wonderful customer….I would not use it…it is over 18 months old and Kukui oil does go rancid……

What is the best cleansers to use on my dry, flaky skin!

We recommend using our Nourishing Facial Cleanser, for dry, mature, anti-aging skin.

Why it works so well:
• Comfrey moisturizes and cleanses the skin naturally through high rates of mucilage.
• Essential oil of lavender is anti-bacterial.
• Essential oil of sage stimulates the skin while having a cooling effect.
• Essential oil of rosemary is anti-septic and invigorates the complexion

What do the white stickers represent on the bottom of the bottles?

The white stickers on the bottom of the bottles represent FDA lot numbers.  If at any time you are unsure of the shelf life of a product please contact us and we would be happy to research that for you.

Teenage skincare recommendation:One of my teenage daughters (16 years old) is wanting to give the line a try. She has pretty normal teenage skin–occasional t-zone with the occasional light break out–she is very lucky! What would you recommend for her? Also, my other teenage daughter (18 years old) has a little more trouble with her skin and is acne prone. I’d love to know what you would recommend for her as well.

Yes, I would use the balancing facial toner for everybody, I still use it everyday!  The entire balancing line is really nice…the Seaweed Cleanser and the Rejuvenating enzyme mask are perfect to help balance skin….I would recommend the oil free skin conditioning serum for a super light moisturizer.  I would recommend the same products for both of them….
Seaweed cleanser
Balancing toner
Rejuvenating Mask
Oil free skin conditioning serum
The other thing I would do is use the balancing toner in a pot of steaming water, put two tablespoons balancing toner to two cups water and put towel over head to open pores.

I just ordered and received a travel size of the seaweed cleanser and have been using it for a few days this week. It doesn’t appear to remove my makeup; do you have any suggestions for a different cleanser that might be able to? If not, that is okay too, I know it isn’t always possible with organic/natural cleansers.

It works really well with a warm wash cloth.  Apply the cleanser, leave on for a minute or two, then remove it with a warm wash cloth, that works really well.  Also, I like to use our Balancing Facial Toner afterwards on a cotton ball to give me that squeaky clean feeling!

I am 37 and have very damaged skin. I had some health issues that caused my skin to explode with acne and terribly congested skin, which led to scarring and stretching and marks from my hands-on habit (bad, I know) and over use of harsh skincare. I now have sliiiightly oily skin (only when I use soap or stripping cleansers, or too much moisturizer that is too heavy). I still have acne under the skin that wont come up/out, and pores that just wont clear (blackheads, etc) and my skin just looks dull and dehydrated no matter what I do.

I have just the thing for you! I would use our balancing facial toner twice a day on a cotton ball to keep your skin squeaky clean, you could use more….I would also put a couple of tablespoons in a pot of boiling water and do a facial steam a couple times a week. You can use this toner instead of a cleanser.

My teenage daughter has dry skin and acne all over her face. I’m looking for the something natural. Do you have any suggestions what products she should use?

Yes, I think we have a few different things you will want to try, depending on her comfort level with different products.  I would use our Seaweed Cleanser and Balancing Toner, use the Balancing toner on a cotton ball twice a day, more if she likes…it is very healing and all the herbs and essential oils we use are  anti-bacterial and anti-septic…and it is not drying..

Then, I think she needs to try the oil free serum and see if that is enough for her it is an aloe base…and she should try to Kukui oil, very light…
In addition, she will love our mask, honey, papaya, pineapple, it is our Rejuvenating enzyme mask that will help remove the dead skin.   Please let me know if you have any other questions we are happy to help.

I’m looking for an organic facial moisturizer to wear under make up.  Can I use one of your moisturizers at night as well as for daytime?

I would suggest one of our oil facial treatments, if you are not that dry the USDA certified organic kukui oil treatment, if you are dry the Seven Facial Rejuvenation Oils.  A little bit goes a very long way with our products.

I just received a trial size of the Seaweed Cleanser, it doesn’t appear to remove my makeup?

It works really well with a warm wash cloth.  Apply the cleanser, leave on for a minute or two, then remove it with a warm wash cloth, that works really well.  Also, I like to use our balancing toner afterwards on a cotton ball to give me that squeaky clean feeling!

Are your products “Organic”?

We grow most of all the herbs we use on our own USDA certified organic farm. We make all of our products up fresh in our own USDA certified organic laboratory. We have 5 products approved for USDA organic certification and one on the market now. Our USDA certified organic Kukui oil wrinkle treatment.

What is the shelf life of the products?

We guarantee our products to stay fresh for one year. Fresh made products without synthetic chemicals, will go bad like food in your refrigerator will go bad.

Are your products Gluten Free?

All of our products are gluten free. We do not use a private labeler, we make all of our own products, fresh, no gluten is ever in our USDA certified organic laboratory.

Do your products contain alcohol?

We use USDA certified organic alcohol or Vodka in some of our products. USDA certified organic alcohol is not like any synthetic made alcohol which can be drying and detrimental to your skin. Our USDA certified organic alcohol is from the plant grown in strict USDA certified organic inspected and regulated environment.

How do we determine the expiration dates and since it is considered a fresh product how long after opening will it remain fresh?

Like the food in your refrigerator, when our products go bad, you know it! If it smells off, do not use it. Each product does have a FDA required batch lot number.

Do you carry a sunscreen?

We do not make a sunscreen now, because 99.9% of sunscreens that will SPF under FDA regulation are synthetic chemicals. We never use synthetic chemicals!!

Do you make an eye cream?

The FDA regulation mandates that if you make a product that states the word, “eye” on the label, you must chose from a list of synthetic chemicals that they provide. All, “eye,” products, if following FDA regulations, must contain from their list of synthetic chemicals.

Can we come out to the farm to purchase and tour?

Not yet, but soon! We are just not set up right now, to have the public out to our farm. However, our plan is to build a farm factory store in Hudson, CO for just that purpose, so we can meet all our customers! To keep in contact about it, Like us on Facebook!

Thank you for developing such wonderful products. I use both the nourishing and seaweed cleansers, and the Lavender moisturizing cream. The rejuvenating enzyme mask is great. I love the whole seed to shelf idea as well. Thanks for protecting our environment too.
