In May we planted about 700-800 plants, including, chamomile, arnica, mint, and much more. The seedlings we planted are struggling with an infestation of micro grasshoppers that are getting to be more and more of a challenge. We will spray them with one of my concoctions of soap and Tabasco sauce this week. They are eating the leaves and in some cases killing the plants. It is a fight for their life. The arnica is almost all perished.

This one of the so many challenges of organic farming. Conventional farmers have 100 ways to deal bugs, we have so few and often ineffective. This is what makes organic farming so difficult and yet, so valuable to the world.

The good news is we have perennials of two kinds of sage, comfrey, yarrow, fennel and marshmallow and more and they all look so beautiful and healthy.
