Gluten-free skin care products are less likely to irritate the skin.

Have you ever really considered how important your skin is?

Our skin can profoundly affect our sense of well-being, who we are and our confidence. Let’s give this idea some thought.

A Vital Organ

Your skin, of course, is your body’s largest organ. It’s what separates you internal organs from the hot sun, the cold and humid air. In providing this protection, the skin becomes our fist introduction to the world. Think about that!

Our skin, of course, has so many important jobs. It also protects us from other outside influences such as harsh chemicals, infection and pollution. It is a vital organ, involved in function sfrom temperature control to waste removal. It is also our major sensory organ, relating to the environment with pleasure and pain.

Composition of Our Skin

skin layers

“Only skin deep” actually means a lot for this very important organ of your body.

The structure of the skin is composed of three layers: the epidermis at the top, the dermis in the middle and the subcutaneous tissue below. Actually, the skin and the layers of tissue below the surface can be separated into seven different layers.

The epidermis: The epidermis is regularly being regenerated. It consists of many dead skin cells continuously being replaced.

The dermis: This layer contains the oil-producing and oil-secreting sebaceous glands. It is composed entirely of live skin cells. Here the skin maintains its strength level.

The subcutaneous tissue: This oil and water layer is composed of the sweat and sebaceous glands. It provides pH balance and natural moisture to the skin and, because it contains fat, provides a cushioning.

Vulnerability of the Skin

The skin has tremendous powers of absorption. It takes in both healthful and harmful ingredients applied to it. Ingredients from skin care products have been found in the bloodstream. Essential oils applied to the skin can affect our central nervous system.

We must recognize that the skin is vulnerable and needs protection from harmful influences.

The outer layer of the skin, the epidermis, is renewed and replenished every eighteen days or so. The dermis, the second layer, consists of collagen and elastin.

Significance of Gluten-Free Skin Care

Rejuvenating Enzyme Mask 1.66OZ

Gluten-free Rejuvenating Enzyme Mask removes dead skin cells naturally.

Some people have celiac disease, meaning their bodies cannot process gluten. Others have developed a sensitivity to gluten. Still others have chosen not to put gluten in their bodies for health reasons.

However, because the skin can actually absorb products, this underscores the importance of applying only pure products to the skin.

Not only does using gluten-free skin care products save you from absorbing gluten through the skin, it prevents cross-contamination. After all, don’t you touch your face when you’re eating? Haven’t you ever gotten a bit of sauce around your mouth and just licked it away? Of course you have — we all have! Especially when eating something gooey and delicious.

Hasn’t a loved one ever kissed your cheek? They can ingest trace amounts of gluten that way, too.

That’s why I’m committed to keeping Lily Farm Fresh Skin Care as gluten-free skin care products.

Want to try a great product to get those dead skin cells moving along? Lily Farm Fresh Rejuvenating Enzyme Mask was created to remove the build up of dead skin cells, stimulate new cell growth, balance combination skin and regenerate damaged skin.
