It seems like everyone thinks organic is trendy, which is good, but please dont let it stray too far off the farm. Please remember it is all about farming! The truth is, most of us farmers are not that fashionable. Maybe I am just talking about myself! We are hard working, dedicated to the food supply, in love with idea of food just coming up from the ground, down to the Earth–more than you can imagine, and usually too tired to be too much fun, although I like to think I can buck that rule.

I think of my Dad….not a trendy hip guy. He did look awful cute in his coveralls. Not an organic farmer, either. Now, I know why. Organic farming is at least 10 times the labor of conventional farming. Although, I think it worth 100 times the work.
