The best way to bring life back to dying trees is to prune them and cut all the dead wood out. For my Easter Day present, I received the cutest, smallest chain saw I have ever seen! It is on a six foot pole so I can reach the higher dead branches.

I did this on my Dad’s apples trees as a kid. For my 13Th Birthday my Dad gave me my own little Mac chain saw. You can imagine, that was not top on a 13 year old girls list for a birthday gift. For Christmas that year, he gave everyone of us five kids our own 24 foot ladders, with our names engraved in them. Since that was all we really got for Christmas that year, it was best not to mess with anyone Else’s ladder!

So, the farm work begins. We start planting on Mother’s Day. My Dad also thought that holidays were for work. Somehow, I have seemed to adopt that family tradition, I am not really recommending it, but it works for me! Lily
